Water Pump Timers

The timers that you will use for your hydroponic system’s water pump will be different than the ones you can use for your grow lights. The lights you use for your marijuana plants will need to run on heavy duty timers but a water pump only needs to use a light duty timer since the pumps don’t take up very much power. The timer will need to be a minimum of 200 watts for it to work for the pump.

Cost

If you want to use a heavy duty timer for the water pump instead you can do that but it could be more costly. The timers that are created for small power (like the pump) are preferred and can save you money. These types of timers are designed for simple tasks like turning a light in a room on or off. You can find these timers at department stores in your city.

Depending on the hydroponic system you are operating the timer will be set differently. An ebb and flow hydroponic system requires the timer to work in about twenty minute intervals. This is only due to the fact that ebb and flow distributes the nutrient solution to your marijuana plants every twenty minutes approximately.

Using a timer for your water pump is essential and is not too expensive either. This will make things a lot easier for your weed plants and make sure that they don’t miss getting fed.
