How to Prune Marijuana Plants
Pruning is not something that is difficult to do if you know how to do it right. The benefits of doing so are worth the effort as it can make the growth speed up, bring in a larger yield, and prevent the plant from getting too tall.
Where to Cut
When you are pruning your cannabis plants you should be cutting about a quarter to half an inch above the node which is staying on your plant. Keep in mind that you are not actually cutting leaves from your plant. The leaves are just a way to determine where the nodes are located and where to cut.
The only time you will probably need to cut leaves from your dope plants is when they begin to die or are interfering in the way of a large bud that is trying to grow. If a big bud is underneath the leaf and blocked from the light then you may want to cut it. Pruning may not always be necessary for your marijuana plants but many experienced growers opt to do so if it will benefit the bud growth or overall growth for the plant.
