The Dark Times Growing Weed

There are some times during growth that the weed requires darkness, this darkness is referred to by experienced growers as moonlight growing and this is when the plants are getting ready to flower. The strongest light that should be in the room should only a dim light to do the maintenance on the crop and it needs to be only for short amounts of time.

As long as the plants are not disturbed by light during this part of their growth they will produce the flowers that every grower waits for and if they are disturbed by light it can cause the plants not to flower. The plants could stay in a vegetative state rather that flowering if they receive to much light because the weed plant is concentrating on growing rather than producing buds.

The moonlight that experience weed growers refer to is most important during the first four weeks of flowering. After the weed crop has flowers for more than a month short amounts of light will not send them into a vegetative state any longer.

The weed crop will require a full 12 hours of darkness and this includes any light from natural sources like a window that might have bits of sunlight coming into the growing room. The windows need to be covered either directly on the glass or with black out drapes so that no sunlight is able to make its way into the room.
