The Female Marijuana Plant
The female marijuana plant is the most popular of the genders when it involves the pot plant, for two main reasons. The first reason is the amount that can be harvested from the female plant is double of that harvested from the male. The second reason is not only is the harvest larger, it is more potent and when grown in the house the THC level is often higher than the plant grown outside.
The female will have a V shape that will make it clear it is not a male marijuana plant; it will also have pistils with fine white hairs that will later turn a brown or red color and are filled with resin. There will also be buds, which is unique to the female and hermaphrodite.
The female is often very wide and has full leaves; it weighs twice the amount of the male plant and also lives 3 to 5 weeks longer than the male plant before harvest. The females are what someone growing in a house wants for their crop, since the crop grown indoors can only be a certain amount of plants. It is also because of the added potency that the male plant does not have and this type of harvest is known as sinsemilla.
Should the female plant be pollinated it will then produce seeds prior to being harvested that can be used as they will also have a content of THC, but not as high as the buds and leaves. The can also be saved for future crops by the person growing the plants indoors, since the marijuana crop can be grown year round in the house. |
