Using A Humidity Dome For Cloning Cannabis

When cloning a cannabis plant and using a nursery planting tray with a dome the cuttings should be planted in the soil that has been prepared with the right acidity level. After the cuttings are planted they will need to be misted with water in a spay bottle and the dome that will be placed over the cuttings will need holes pierced in it for ventilation.

The plants will need to have about 90 percent moisture while under the dome, since they do not have roots the only thing that will keep them from dieing and growing roots will be the nutrition they can receive from the moisture and prepared soil. The temperature under the dome will need to be kept in the area of 72 to 80 degrees to enhance root growth. If the temperature rises to high more ventilation holes will need to be placed in the dome to keep it within the right range. They also will not do well if the temperature goes to low, it must be remembered that these cuttings do not have roots to give them nutrients.

The best lighting that can be used for these delicate cuttings that have no roots is florescent, with one cool white bulb and one warm white bulb. The light will need to be left on 24 hours a day and with the two different bulbs will give it the lights without harming the clone.
