The Steps To Clone The Marijuana Plant

There are growers that clone their crops rather than plant by see and one of the reasons for this is because it will be a crop that matures faster than one planted from seed. Another reason is that the grower has found a marijuana plant that is a better quality than seeds they might plant.

To clone or take a cutting from the mature plant there are several things to have on hand and to know before beginning the process, the equipment that will be needed is a single edged razor or razor knife, a wood or Styrofoam block, hormone rooting powder and prepared peat pots.

The first step is to prepare the peat pots by adding the mixed soil and water it then a hole should be made through the soil. The next step is to choose the cutting that will be taken, this should be a growing tip that is between 3 and 6 inches long. This piece of plant will need to have at least a one leaf internode, below the internode approximately one inch with the block placed behind the stem the cutting should be taken. It should be done in one motion so that it is a clean cut without collapsing the stem or shredding it.

After the cutting has been taken then it is placed in the rooting hormone for about a minute. Then it is placed in the peat pot where the hole has been made and soil packed gently around it.
